AAP Card (11) - Karu Munu Tjukula by Heather Brumby

Shown here are our wonderful collection of Australian made cards from women artists from the Iwantja arts centre in Indulkana, North West SA.

Karu munu Tjukula Creek and Rockholes by Heather Brumby
Artists paint their connection to their land using symbolism from their own individual Dreaming path. The dots in different colour blocks represent vegetation, and places where bush foods can be gathered, as it changes from place to place and season to season. Sites may be specific rocks, waterholes, special trees, mountains and many others. Wavy lines may depict the travels of ancestral beings.

#11 of 14 of our Iwantja Arts Aboriginal Artists Cards series. This collection is supported by Catherine Manuell Design as part of our Women’s Aboriginal Artists Project. In buying this card you are directly supporting the artists and their community in their working lives.
